Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Vela, a short-drama streaming service operated by Joeul LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account or using Vela, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use Vela.

2. Coins and VIP subscriptions

Vela uses a virtual currency (“coins”) to unlock individual episodes, and offers an optional VIP subscription for unlimited access.

• Coins have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not transferable between accounts.
• Coin purchases are generally final. Refunds are handled according to the policy of the platform you purchased through (Google Play for mobile purchases, or our payment processor for web purchases), and by applicable law.
• VIP subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the platform you subscribed through; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• We may change pricing for coins or VIP. Price changes never affect coins you have already purchased, and any change to a VIP subscription price takes effect only after we give you notice before your next renewal, so you can cancel first.

3. Content you upload

If you submit a series to Vela, you represent that you own or have all necessary rights to the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

You retain ownership of your content. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transcode, display, and stream your content to Vela users for the purpose of operating the service.

All submissions are reviewed before publishing. We may reject, remove, or unpublish any content at our discretion, including content that violates these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the rights to distribute
• Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative
• Attempt to circumvent paywalls, unlock mechanisms, or access controls
• Scrape, redistribute, or re-stream content from Vela
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use another person’s account without permission

5. Copyright complaints

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe content on Vela infringes a copyright you own or control, send a notice to info@joeul.com that includes:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the work you say has been infringed
• Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — a link to the episode or series is best
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

We remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice, and we terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address.

6. Termination

You may stop using Vela at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. If we terminate your account without cause, you may request a refund of any unused coins.

7. Disclaimers

Vela is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content will remain available.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Vela. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or to Vela will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either of us from bringing a claim in a small-claims court.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be communicated through the service. Continuing to use Vela after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
